Franklin Jamison Dixon was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. After retiring from the Assembly of God Church, the Trinity Christian Fellowship of Churches& International recruited and consecrated Bishop on July 28, 2018.
Bishop earned his B.A. at St. Louis Christian College and M.Div. at Eden Theological Seminary. In California, he attended Riverside Community College where he majored in Spanish; and attended Fuller Theological Seminary for 2 years where he worked on doctoral studies in Church Growth and Evangelism.
Christian University of Southern Indiana School of Theological Studies bestowed The Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree and Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters. He is also an Adjunct Professor there.
Bishop brings to our fellowship a wealth of pastoral and family experience as father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and husband. He has been married over 54 years to his high school sweetheart, DoRethia. Their example has motivated others to understand that marriage can be permanent when Jesus is the Head of the home. His 13 years as high school educator and 40 years of ministerial experience offers keen insights in building networks for effective relationships. He is also a theologian, historian, pastor, business owner, motivator, entrepreneur, and educator.
As pastor and father, he has learned that the father’s role in the home is irreplaceable. He says, “There is no greater responsibility than to be a godly father and devoted husband. As pastor, his first ministry is to his wife and own family.” He has authored teaching manuals, books on effectual prayer, and spiritual gifts. These works have edified the Church’s understanding how the Holy Spirit operates through the spiritual gifts.
Bishop is married to the lovely and beautiful DoRethia Jamison Dixon. She grew up in the Church of God of Christ where her father was the pastor and beloved Superintendent. In her childhood, she learned to sing and serve in the church with joy and gladness. As a worship leader, Sister DoRethia is a singer in her own right singing hymns, gospels, and contemporary music. She leads in worshipful songs that touch your heart and cause many to want to pray with all that is within them.
