A. Franklin Jamison Dixon was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. After retiring from the Assembly of God Church, Trinity Cornerstone Christian Fellowship of Churches & Ministries, International, Franklin was recruited and consecrated Bishop on July 28, 2018.
Franklin earned his B.A. at St. Louis Christian College and M.Div. at Eden Theological Seminary. In California, he attended Riverside Community College where he majored in Spanish; and attended Fuller Theological Seminary for 2 years where he worked on doctoral studies in Church Growth and Evangelism.
Christian University of Southern Indiana School of Theological Studies bestowed The Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree and Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters. He is also an Adjunct Professor there.
As newly consecrated Bishop, he brings to our fellowship a wealth of pastoral and family experience as father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and husband. He has been married over 59 years to his high school sweetheart, DoRethia. Their example has motivated others to understand that marriage can be permanent when Jesus is the Head of the home. His 13 years as high school educator and 40 years of ministerial experience offers keen insights in building networks for effective relationships. He is also a theologian, historian, pastor, business owner, motivator, entrepreneur, and educator.
As pastor and father, he has learned that the father’s role in the home is irreplaceable. He says, “There is no greater responsibility than to be a godly father and devoted husband. As pastor, his first ministry is to his wife and own family.” He has authored teaching manuals, books on effectual prayer, and spiritual gifts. These works have edified the Church’s understanding how the Holy Spirit operates through the spiritual gifts.
DoRethia Jamison Dixon is the lovely and talented wife of Bishop Jamison Dixon. She grew up in the Church of God of Christ where her father was the pastor and beloved Superintendent. In her childhood, she learned to sing and serve in the church with joy and gladness. As a worship leader, Sister DoRethia is a singer in her own right singing hymns, gospels, and contemporary music. She leads in worshipful songs that touch your heart and cause many to want to pray with all that is within them.
As mighty woman of faith, Mother DoRethia knows how to petition the Lord through intercessory prayer. She listens to the voice of the Lord and is often awakened to intercede for those God has placed on her heart. Through prevailing prayers, family members have been delivered from the jaws of death, marriages reconciled, and the saints delivered from pending tragedy. Often, many have called on her to pray with them believing prayers. Mother DoRethia reminds those praying, “the Lord will always answer your need but not always what you want. Be ready to receive the answer.”
As a woman of excellence, She founded a woman group called the “Sisters of Excellence.” The “Sisters of Excellence” is where women go to get inspired with excellent solutions and mutual support for the challenges we face in this day and time.
She also teaches and leads other women to be the best woman that they can become by loving themselves as God loves them. As a wife and mother, she leads the way with the practical ministry how to love their selves, their husbands and to care for their children. Her motto is “Ministry starts at home and then spreads abroad.” Mother DoRethia is a devoted mother of 5 children, the grandmother of 19 and the proud great-grandmother of 13 and still counting. She has often said, “We must pray a hedge of protection around our children so that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.”
After graduating from the Board of Education Nursing in 1974, Mother DoRethia serves as a home health nurse. As a devoted wife, she faithfully served with her husband in churches in Missouri, Arizona, and California for over 35 years while he pastored Churches. Under their leadership together, many spiritual children in gospel were birthed and are now in the ministry today. For her many years of dedicated services, the University Southern Indiana School of Theological Studies bestowed upon her the Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.
