She grew up in the Church of God of Christ where her father was the pastor and beloved Superintendent.   In her childhood, she learned to sing and serve in the church with joy and gladness. As a worship leader, Sister DoRethia is a singer in her own right singing hymns, gospels, and contemporary music.  She leads in worshipful songs that touch your heart and cause many to want to pray with all that is within them.

As mighty woman of faith, Lady DoRethia knows how to petition the Lord through intercessory prayer.   She listens to the voice of the Lord and is often awakened to intercede for those God has placed on her heart.  Through prevailing prayers, family members have been delivered from the jaws of death, marriages reconciled, and the saints delivered from pending tragedy.  Often, many have called on her to pray with them believing prayers. Lady DoRethia reminds those praying, “the Lord will always answer your need but not always what you want.  Be ready to receive the answer.”
